Simple CMS Theme For WordPress®

Simple CMS is just that. While it does offer everything you need to create a content-managed web site, it does not come with as many bells and whistles as some of our other themes. We purposely created this theme with simplicity in mind. For aspiring web developers this theme is the easiest way to get started.

The horizontal navigation menu atop this theme supports an unlimited nested hierarchy. It can contain a combination of pages and/or categories. You can have as many pages and categories in the menu as you need to. The Sidebar for this theme is widget-ready. This theme includes three pre-installed widgets that may come in handy. The Super Tags widget, the Ad Codes widget, and the Ad Squares widget. The Ad Codes widget accepts any type of XHTML or JavaScript, including Google® Adsense.

This theme supports the custom field thumbnail. You can assign a Thumbnail to each page and/or post that you create. Thumbnails will float along side your content excerpts in category view, and in search results. The size of each thumbnail should be 150x150 pixels. The page template for this theme is in full page format, providing you with plenty of room for your content. Simple CMS is ideal for webmasters who plan to heavily utilize the concept of Pages within WordPress®. In other words, this theme works the best when you want to use WordPress® as a CMS. Hence the name, Simple CMS.

Supports all WordPress® coding standards. Including support for , the  tag, search capabilities, content excerpts & sticky posts. It also supports all WordPress® generated classes, including captions, alignment, gallery display & others.
Built on the rock-solid WebSharks Framework for WordPress® powered websites & blogs. The WebSharks Framework, is a fancy name for what is essentially a core set of PHP, JavaScript and CSS files that have been professionally assembled for the production of high quality themes, plugins and widgets for WordPress®.
Support for custom thumbnail display. Each Page and/or Post can be assigned the Custom Field: thumbnail. OR, in WP 2.9+ `Set As Thumbnail` is also a supported method. Thumbnails are not required, but remember, a picture is worth a thousands words!
Integrated theme options (for WordPress®) to tweak the layout, color scheme & other theme-specific settings. The Theme Options Panel is packed full of helpful hints, including (inline documentation) that further explains the reasoning behind each configuration option. Clarity is a wonderful thing!
Threaded comments for WordPress — that is, if you enable this in your WordPress® Discussion settings. Users can reply to previous comments, and those replies will appear in logical order, instead of just being stacked on top of each other. Supports an unlimited nested hierarchy.
Support for Gravatars ( Globally Recognized Avatars ). Including integrated tools that allow users to upload their Gravatar through Gravatar.com. A Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site, appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Gravatars have become a WordPress® standard.
Widget-ready, supporting just about any widget you can find. Including those available @WordPress.org. Drag n' drop widgets; re-arrange them however you like. In your Theme Options Panel you can insert Custom CSS, which makes it easy to add custom styles to non-standardized widgets. Make any widget look like a million bucks!
Designed for maximum plugin compatibility. This theme was developed with the assumption that you will want to install at least a few great plugins along the way. Including those available @WordPress.org. We highly recommend Quick Cache for internal WordPress® optimization. WP Super Cache & others are also supported.
W3C validated XHTML 1.0. All of our software uses 100% table-less design, with everything being controlled through pure CSS. This feature, like many others, has been integrated seamlessly with WordPress®, so everything remains simple and easy to understand. Beginner or expert, you'll have no trouble at all.
The Super Tags widget comes pre-installed, available for use with this theme. Allowing you to take complete control over tagging. This widget displays a list of tags in what is called a Tag Cloud, where the size of each tag is determined by how many times that particular tag has been assigned to a post, or to a page.
Comes with Ad Codes for WordPress®, a widget that allows you to run Google Adsense® and other advertising campaigns easily. You can use HTML/JavaScript, or even PHP code in this widget. The Ad Codes widget supports multi-widget options. It also has an ad-rotation system built-in. You can force ads to shuffle themselves randomly.
Comes with Ad Squares, a widget that allows you to create symmetrical blocks of 2 to 8 sponsorship squares in this widget-ready theme. Each ad square accepts HTML/PHP/JavaScript, so it will work with standard affiliate ads, or even with ad network codes. This widget supports multi-widget options, so technically you could have more than 8 squares.
Link display template. This can be used to display links (aka: your BlogRoll). Links are updated using the built-in link management console for WordPress®. This template fully supports XFN™, (XHTML Friends Network). XFN™ is a simple way to represent human relationships using hyperlinks. XFN™ tools are built into WordPress® now as a standard.
All of our code is extremely well commented. Every single block of code contains brief details and information about what is happening. This makes it much easier for developers to work with our software. In addition to inline comments, we also provide documentation on our framework, with code samples and other advice.
