has anyone successfully integrated firstdata with this plugin? i am about to buy it, but on the fence if i cant use my clients gateway.

No, not by default, only the ones mentioned here http://s2member.com

That said, you could have a developer try integrating with that gateway following this tip viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3154
