Am I correct that to set up the 1st level as a free level, I just have to set up a Pal Pal button with 0.00 as the price?

No. A Free Subscriber is a special Role, that is NOT associated with any of the s2Member Roles. A Free Subscriber just goes directly to the registration page.

Code: Select all
http://example.com/wp-login.php?action=register

For further details, please see:
s2Member -> General Options -> Login Welcome Page
sub-section: Allow Free Subscribers

Allowing free subscribers doesn't allow me to create a free subscriber paypal button so that they get my paypal parsed aweber driven newsletter. On my site all access is limited until you are at least a free subscriber, which sends you my newsletter, but I don't want to make people pay to get it. I would like to be able to send my newsletter, which is parsed with my paypal account through aweber, to all members, but not make all members pay for a fee membership level. I hope that makes sense. Please advise.

Thanks for reporting back on this topic. s2Member's integration with WordPress/MailChimp/AWeber, extends into the Free Registration Form as well. So if you offer the Free Registration Form, you can also have those Free Subscribers automatically subscribed to your AWeber list, even though they're not paying.

Code: Select all
http://example.com/wp-login.php?action=register
