Using Gravity Forms Paypal form with s2Member Pro PayPal

Hi,

I've created and used a Gravity Forms PayPal form that now works in conjunction with BuddyPress and s2Member. On submission of the gravity forms, an order gets placed with Paypal, user gets registered with BuddyPress and assigned an s2Member level. I prefer the Gravity Form Paypal form as easier to configure and offers radio buttons to add extras onto core product with an auto totalling mechanism HOWEVER what it does not have are all of the neat s2Member benefits and more importantly the Pro PayPal integration, thus leading me to the question…

Is their a way to add the s2Member Pro Pay Pal 'Billing Method' and 'Checkout Now' element onto a Gravity Form PayPal form. Appreciate if this isn’t clear, so best way I can describe this - my Gravity 'PayPal' Form found here - http://ventureintro.com/bronze is the ideal presentation however very much missing what s2member can provide and that’s the 'Billing Method' and 'Checkout Now' found at foot of my s2Member Pay Pal form found at http://ventureintro.com/s2member/

is their a way to merge the two? An upcoming plugin? any idea or light to whether this is interop is possible or if I should draw a line and move on to an alternative plan?

Any guidance and help, very much appreciated :)

Thanks and Regards,
Gareth Nunn

Gareth, thanks for the great question. I'm sending Jason an email to ask him. :)

Have you searched in the Gravity forms documentation or support, if there's a way to checkout with PayPal Pro?

Hi Christian,

Thanks for your reply and investigation. Gravity Forms currently only supports PayPal Standard checkout however...support for Pro PayPal is being worked through dev and release is imminent according to

Some of the more advanced functionality you're looking for in this area ( i.e. with the s2Member/Gravity Forms combination ) will all become available in a future release of s2Member Pro. Currently scheduled for release in Feb March 2012.

Feb2012? That's ages away. I guess we have to wait.

I would like this integration for the following reason:

I have a normal user flow where members can register, pay, and become members via s2member but I also want to automatically add all non-members who submit any gravity form (contact us, event registration, etc) to the membership database as 'free' members and also offer the option in any gravity form, whether it's a event registration or whatever, to pay via paypal and become a full member as defined by s2member roles.

Hi Roham.

So you want to have the Gravity form give the option to register free or paid? I guess that's a customization you'll have to do with the Gravity form, which I'm not familiar with so I can't give much help there. Have you tried their forums?

Regarding the payment, if you can integrate the PayPal button to their form as an option, then you may want to read this post by Jason on creating buttons over at PayPal and have them work with s2Member: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=309#p1333

I hope that helps. :)

Hi,

Any update on the Gravity Form integration support.

On another note, I have implemented an s2 member paypal pro shortcut 'billing modifications' form however it always dispalyes 'create profile' fields even though the logeed in user already has an existing profile therefore not requiring any registration.

Am I over looking something?

Thanks
Gareth

Are the fields already pre-populated? They should be.

No, unfortunately the fields are not pre-populating with any current user information, user is presented with blank fields?

Thanks for the follow-up. Can you please post a screenshot for us?
It sounds like you may have some JavaScript errors in other parts of your theme?

My guess is... this is happening because s2Member is unable to run it's JavaScript routines against your Pro Form. In Firefox, go to Tools -> Web Developer -> Error Console. Anything related to JavaScript? If so, that's the issue. If there are JavaScript errors on your site, those need to get fixed before s2Member Pro Forms will operate as expected.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the follow up. After burning the midnight oil and discovery of another error elsewhere in the site non s2ember related, I switch off all plugins, re-activating them in sequence until error app reared and managed to identify the culprit as 'WP PHP Widget'. Turns out, this plugging was also causing conflicts & blocking the s2member PPPro display.

All sorted, ticket closed, Cheers,

PS- Any dates pencilled or features planned for deeper Member integration with Gravity Forms?
