Switching domains

I have an S2Member Pro license for one site. We need to change the name and primary domain name of that site. I'm building a checklist of all things that need to be updated to make sure the site continues to run smoothly.

Regarding S2Member, I have assembled the following checklist:
1. Change Primary Domain in my S2Member account
2. Change Email Configuration in WP admin
3. Change PayPalPro settings

Is there anything else that I need to remember to change to ensure S2Member runs smoothly?
Thanks,
Jen

I'd first create a backup. Make sure you move WordPress properly and it's working fine.

With s2Member Pro, you can export the s2Member settings and then re-import them, which could save you some trouble. WP Admin -> s2Member -> Import/Export -> Options

I hope that helps. :)

I'm not actually moving it at all, just setting a new primary domain and buying a new SSL. I don't expect it to be troublesome I'm just double-checking that I've thought of all settings that need to be changed.

Oh, I see. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. Still, I'd make a backup of everything just in case.

You'll just need to make sure you update every mention of the old domain name with the new one. There are two mentions in WordPress' settings. WP Admin -> Settings -> General

I'd still export the s2Member options and then re-import them after changing the domain name, in case you needed it later. WP Admin -> s2Member -> Import/Export -> Options

You'll have to update the custom attribute in your button/pro-form shortcodes, too. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Buttons -> Shortcode Attributes -> custom

My domain switch is complete but my three main registration pages are still pulling a security code error.
http://thecoffeeconnection.com/registration/
https://thecoffeeconnection.com/busines ... s2-ssl=yes
https://thecoffeeconnection.com/enterpr ... s2-ssl=yes

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jen :D

I updated the S2member plugin to the latest version of S2member pro and the error went away. However, those particular pages sure take a while to load now.

I'm glad the update solved that.

About the speed, I suggest that you deactivate other plugins one by one, checking the page load time after each, see when there is a marked improvement.

Also, the more plugins you have, the slower your installation will be, so if you can clean up your installed plugins that'd help.

Also, using a good cache plugin like Quick Cache would help. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-cache/
