"Administrative: New User Notification" Not working

Postby meets2 » January 5th, 2012, 9:12 pm

Hello,
I can't get "Administrative: New User Notification" working with the email accounts on the website domain and hosted by google apps.
I've read most posts and was about to try the solutions describer here
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15555&p=48533#p48533
When I tested different email addresses, one on me.com and another on yahoo.com the "Administrative: New User Notification" works perfectly.

Any suggestions?

I just verified that it is not related to google apps as I was able to receive the "Administrative: New User Notification" on another email account hosted by google apps.
So it must be something related to any email in the meetitalia.org domain.

What versions of WordPress and s2Member are you running?

Did you check the spam folder?

You could try this plugin to log the emails that go out: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/email-log/

Hello,
Wordpress 3.2.1 and s2member 111220.
I checked the spam folder, nothing there.
I've installed the email-log plugin and it shows no logs.
Strangely now newly registered users don't get the email with the password any more.
They do receive a mailchimp opt in email though. And they do appear as new users in the user list.

I've done more testing and found out that s2member does not send a confirmation email to any users that register using an email on the same domain as the website.
So newly registered users do receive the email with the password as long as they are not using an email with the same domain as the website from which s2member is sending the email

I've installed email-log but I still don't see any logs in the email-log page even though I have been able to send and thus receive an email on a test email account on a different domain.

Thank you

I suggest installing the WP Mail SMTP plugin and configuring it with the SMTP server details for the email account that you're using as the "From" address on all outgoing emails. For example, if you use a gmail.com address, you can configure the plugin with the Gmail SMTP server details.

You sir are a life saver.
Working perfectly now.

For other users: follow the steps described by Raam Dev if you are using GApps to host your email services.

Thank you
