Zend Guard and PHP 5.3

Apparently Zend Optimizer is not supported in PHP 5.3 (which is the version of PHP I am running). I dug around and found that Zend has an "early" release of "Zend Guard Loader" which is apparently the new name for the Zend Optimizer. I've installed it but the s2member pro plugin is still telling me that Zend Optimizer is not installed.

Here is a link to the zend forum with the Zend Guard Loader - http://forums.zend.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... =80#p22073

Your assistance would be appreciated :)

Thank you.

Hi Lew. Thanks for reporting this.

I'm working on a 2nd flavor of s2Member Pro that is encoded with ionCube; which IS compatible with PHP 5.3. This will give everyone a second option. Actually, the ionCube version will be a little more optimized. So I will probably offer that version in the lead ( once it's ready ).

With any luck, it will be ready tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for your patience. ~I'll update this thread once it has been released.

Wow, you were up later than I was! Us Georgians need to lay off the code

I have a feeling you're not up as early as I am though :?

Looking forward to the ioncube version... thanks!

Oh yea. We work all hours of the night here!
~ I was born a night owl.
You won't see me awake before 10 am :-)

s2Member v1.0.6 is now available.
== Changelog ==

= 1.0.6 =
  • Updated to support both ionCube® and the Zend® Optimizer.
s2Member Pro will NOW work with either of these extensions.
  • The `/extras/check-my-server.php` file has been updated to
support both ionCube® and the Zend® Optimizer.
  • ionCube® loaders are now bundled with the s2Member Pro distribution file.
If ionCube® is not loaded on your server, s2Member will provide you with instructions inside WordPress automatically. It just takes one line in your php.ini file. Either that, or a quick ticket to your web host.
