Page not restricted

Postby mrsshopper » July 3rd, 2010, 8:39 am

Hello,
I am using s2member and restricted a few pages for level 1 subscribers. However, today while using my "search" widget box I typed in a word and to my horror found that I could access those restricted pages while not logged in as a subscriber. I logged into my dashboard and took down the search tool, but I would love to have that feature for my readers, without giving them access to posts that they are not entitled to if they are not on the right subscriber level.
Please help as this is not true restriction! Is there a step I missed or a plug in I need?
Thank you!

you need to define those pages in the s2member control panel (general settings). locate the ID number for that page then use it in the page restriction field.

Good Luck

Also make sure that you're logged out. By default, Administrators have Level 4 Access. So testing while logged in as an Administrator will create confusion for you.

The page IS protected using the ID number for that page, and I've logged out and tested it, and can still access that page. I've had others test it too and they could access the page too. Jason, can I email you to test it and see if there is something that can be done? Thanks.

Hi there. Sorry for my delayed response. I just saw your reply that came back in on this. Absolutely, if you still have a Dashboard login where I can see your configuration, I'll be happy to have a look.

I am having the same problem. My restricted pages are not restricted. However I have put the ID pages in the correct field and they can still be seen. The entire program will not work for me if I can not keep the restricted pages restricted.
Please let me know what the solution was.

Thank You

Hi Veronica. Thanks for reporting this important issue.

I'm not sure why this is happening on your installation; but I have seen a few WordPress themes that make calls to the query_posts() function, and then they forget to call wp_reset_query() afterward.

This can cause WordPress conditional functions to fail.
[ see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Ref ... eset_query ]

If you continue to have trouble, I recommed testing on the default WordPress theme, or with the s2Clean Theme [ http://www.primothemes.com/post/s2clean ... wordpress/ ]. If nothing resolves the problem, please feel free to email me with a Dashboard login. I'll be happy to have a look for you.
