When I did a test on registering as a subscriber I noticed there was a field named referral id. I entered all the other information and when I clicked register it said that the referral id was required. Seeing as how a new member probably won't know what to put in that field how can I take that off???

That's not a standard registration field, something added it there. Could it have been another plugin you use or a custom field you created?
