Affiliate Program Integration

Postby s2fan » May 12th, 2010, 7:51 am

Has anyone had success integrating an affiliate program with s2member? The situation I'm imagining is that affiliates could promote your membership through a unique link to earn commissions. I think that this is mentioned in the description of s2member, but I can't find any descriptions of how to do it, besides the limited instructions in the s2member plugin settings.

Hi there. Thanks for your inquiry.

You can integrate s2Member with just about ANY affiliate network, and/or affiliate software. Starting with s2Member v2.9.2+, s2Member comes with integration instructions specifically for ShareASale and also for iDevAffiliate, which should help point you in the right direction.

Please upgrade to the latest version of s2Member, and then navigate to: s2Member -> API Tracking -> iDevAffiliate and/or ShareASale... for examples.

Just to be clear. s2Member does NOT come with affiliate tracking software of its own. This is intentional. Affiliate marketing should be handled through a 3rd-party service, like CJ.com, ShareASale, or through a specialized application that you install on your server, such as iDevAffiliate. Once you've got your affiliate program up and running, s2Member provides you with the tools you need to integrate affiliate tracking into its processing routines easily.

Most of the affiliate programs mentioned on this post would be pricy for me - at least for now. Can someone recommend an alternative? I want to invite a few colleagues (with big email lists) to promote my new site and get affiliate and residual commissions. I'm I dreaming to think there is a cheap or free option out there?

Thanks Jason. On second thought, given that you have already integrated iDevAffiliate and it is only $99 for the basic software, it may make sense just to go that route.

cheers! - Ryan

What about using PayDotCom? Can that be integrated easily with s2member?

Hi Mike. Very sorry for my extremely delayed response.

PayDotCom ~ not yet, but look for this to come in a future release.
In the very next release of s2Member 3.1+ ( coming very soon ), we'll be adding support for IPN w/ Proxy Keys; which gets us one step closer to PayDotCom integration.

If you're a hacker, you can probably get PayDotCom integrated using the IPN Proxy Key in s2Member 3.1+ See: s2Member -> PayPal Options -> IPN Integration

PayDotCom support will be added around 3.2 - 3.3, and it will be listed under:
s2Member -> API / Tracking

Hey, I am just thinking that earning commissions maybe the user could go up one level. I mean that maybe the membership costs 10USD and then a new user goes in with the referral of the first one, then goes 1USD to the first one and nine for the services. Then a third goes on and buys a membership, the second one gets 1USD and the first one also gets 1USD and 8USD go for the services etc etc... when getting the 5th level, it stops for the user. but continues with new users. and users in level 2.

Any idea??

OK, I see where you're going.
That is possible with iDevAffiliate.

s2Member comes with instructions for integrating with iDevAffiliate.

In your WP Dashboard, check out:
s2Member -> API Tracking -> iDevAffiliate

iDevAffiliate is $99, and is a separate software application.

We use iDevAffiliate ourselves @PriMoThemes.com
