User restrictions

Postby TechGamingNews » January 26th, 2012, 9:46 am

I searched the forums for help and I kinda found what I was looking for however I need further explanation,

I am using "s2Member Free" I have 4 user account levels
level #0 = Guest
Level #1 = Free Member
Level #2 = Pro Member
Level #3 = Site Staff
Level #4 = Admin

I want user level 1-2 to allow posts (ONLY), Level 3 to have some functionality to the admin CP and of course level 4 will have all access to the admin CP

If I am missing something please point me in the right direction, Thank you in advance

s2Member doesn't manage access to the admin area, only access to content on the front end of WordPress. That said, you could customize the s2Member roles giving them certain capabilities that'd let them do what you want tthem to do. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

You may want help from a developer if you don't know how to do that. You can find help in sites like eLance.com and oDesk.com.

I hope that helps. :)

Ok so I have set up my user restrictions but I have a few plugins that will not go away they are:
"Google XML Sitemaps"
"WP-Table Reloaded"
"ALO EasyMail Newsletter"
"Menubar"

Is there a command that I can use to force the plugin to check user level in the dashboard and if so what is it? and where would I put it?

I have asked on the Wordpress forums and on the plugin forums with no responses so I am hoping to get something here.

Thanks in advance
Dalton.

Sorry, don't know one that does that. Not sure if Plugin Organizer may help, maybe its code gives you an idea to achieve that with your own custom hack. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/plugin-organizer/

I hope that helps.
