Pro Forms Not Working in IE9

Postby ridesabike2 » January 14th, 2012, 1:12 pm

Sure could use some help! We're about to send out a press release and it seems Pro Forms don't work in IE9. The browser crashes, and the Paypal button goes nowhere. Here's the page:

https://roadguardians.org/site/membersh ... recurring/

This would be for Paypal Subscriptions. We do have PP Pro as well as S2M Pro. I'm at a loss. It works fine in Firefox and Chrome. Thanks!

There's something wrong with your SSL Certificate. That might have something to do with it. I'm getting errors with the SSL in both Chrome and IE

Thanks Bruce. I got with my host, who installed the certificate. Apparently it's because of mixed http and https. I'm much more familiar with the old-fashioned HTML. No idea how to modify the whole page. I did get rid of the widgets on the right on this particular page (https://roadguardians.org/site/membersh ... recurring/) to see if it would help but it didn't. And, IE9 still crashes.

Well IE doesn't *crash* for me, but the PayPal button definitely doesn't work.

Actually, now that you've changed the way the page is formatted, the button does work for me now, but the SSL Certificate is still not showing up correclty.

Still having issues with this. Could I get some of you to try it in IE? Thanks! I just need to know if the button works at all for you, or if the browser crashes.

Are you using the s2Member custom field to secure the page?

Is WordPress® compatible with SSL enabled?

Yes, WordPress® is indeed compatible with SSL enabled ( https:// ). However, not all themes/plugins are designed to behave properly with SSL enabled. For instance, some WordPress® themes/plugins embed links to images, scripts, and/or style sheets; all starting with http://, instead of https://, ( or just //: - which is cross-protocol compatible ). For this reason, you should be very careful when choosing a WordPress® theme/plugin to use with s2Member Pro. Otherwise, your visitors could see the famous "Secure/Insecure" warnings in Internet Explorer® browsers. A good web developer can fix this minor issue with ease, but novice site owners are advised to get help from a professional.

*Tip: With s2Member installed, you can add the Custom Field s2member_force_ssl -> yes to any Post/Page. s2Member will buffer output on those special Posts/Pages, converting everything over to https:// for you automatically, and forcing those specific Posts/Pages to be viewed over a secure SSL connection; so long as your server supports the https protocol.
